Cook the Book:
A Year of Cooking & Friends

Thursday of Each Month (via Zoom)

What is it?

This isn’t just about following recipes—it’s about learning, connecting, and creating change one small group at a time.

When we launched 100 Women Who Care, the goal was simple: gather people together to make an impact and connect. Cook the Book carries that same spirit of connection into the kitchen—only this time, it’s designed for smaller circles, where friendships deepen, conversations flow, and shared meals spark meaningful action.

Each month, you’ll not only cook one of Chef Theo’s beloved bistro dishes—you’ll also learn techniques straight from the kitchens of Le Cordon Bleu. Think of it as book club with purpose—but instead of reading chapters, we cook recipes, learn new skills, share a meal, and explore how we can make a difference together.

Along the way, a portion of the proceeds help reduce food insecurity here in Door County—so every dish supports more than just your table.

What does it include?

  • Live Virtual Cooking Class

  • Recipes from Theo’s American Bistro Cookbook

  • Shopping list & wine pairing suggestions

  • Step-by-step instruction with Chef Theo

  • Live Q&A throughout class so you can ask questions, get tips, and deepen your cooking skills

  • Stories and lively banter from Theo, Ella, and Peggy that make the kitchen come alive with humor, warmth, and history

  • Conversation cards to spark connection in your small group

  • Access to process recordings if you miss a night or want to re-watch a technique

  • A community of people who care—learning together, cooking together, and making a difference

Invite a friend, a neighbor, or someone you’d love to get to know better. Families can cook together and pass down traditions—kids under 15 join free with a paid adult. Beyond family and friends, Cook the Book is also a creative way for coworkers to connect or for teams to engage clients in something memorable outside the office.

Cook Together Across the Miles

Distance doesn’t have to keep you apart.

Cooking is always better when it’s shared, and now you can invite friends, family or colleagues to join you—regardless of where they live.

Sign up together, and we’ll make sure you’re connected in the same virtual kitchen space on Zoom called a breakout room. Breakout rooms is a feature where we split the big group into smaller groups. You'll only see and hear the people in your group with Theo, Peggy & Ella popping in but you can ask questions anytime. Think of it like stepping into your own little room during class. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

You can join in a way that works best for you:

  • Gather in one kitchen with family, friends, or neighbors and cook together. (If someone can't make it out you can have them join you virtually in a breakout room.)

  • Cook as a group virtually in your own private breakout room—perfect for friends, relatives or co-workers in different places. You'll be able to interact, ask questions, and connect with others in smaller groups, just like you would in a real kitchen.

  • Tune in solo in your own kitchen then eat with your family.

  • Join solo and we’ll match you up! If you’re looking to meet people in Door County, we can place you in a breakout room with others from the area—so you can each cook in your own kitchen, but still share the experience together and get to know people.
